Governor Bii’s Administrations Sets Aside Sh 100 Million for Internet Connectivity

Uasin Gishu County government in partnership with the National Government has set aside Sh 100 million for internet connectivity across the County.

According to the CEC for water, Environment, Sanitation and Climate change Dr. Abraham Serem said the aim of the government is to invest on youth programs such as Ajira digital and internet.

“We have Wi-Fi provisions that will be placed across all the county offices in the thirty wards and CBD so that youths can do online jobs when convenient. This will cost the County government Sh 100 million’’, said the CEC for water, Environment, Sanitation and Climate change.

He said the National Government in partnership with the county government will address the challenge of climate change.

“We will involve youths across the wards in environment conservation by planting of trees which will create job opportunities for the youth, conserve the environment and increases the forest cover “, he said.
The CEC noted that the county government will ensure that the youth get their 30% share of all tenders and jobs opportunities that are provided by the county.

Serem further urged the youths to involve themselves in activities that generate income instead of involving in illegal activities.

“Youths in Uasin Gishu should apply and take advantage of jobs that are being advertised since according to the Constitution 30 percent is meant to be given to youths, women and people living with disabilities”, he said.
