Governor Jackson Mandago Speaks After Voting
Uasin Gishu governor Mandago has called on his supporters to maintain peace during the UDA party nomination.
Speaking to the press after voting Mandago said UDA nomination is a key process in Uasin Gishu which has a support base of over 90 percent of the locals to the party
“I want to call upon my supporters across the County to maintain the peace that they should vote and go home and wait for results which will be announced by the returning officer,” said Mandago after voting at his rural home in Linyamoi Primary school.
Governor Jackson Mandago who is serving his second term in office has declared his interest in the senatorial seat which is currently being held by Senator Margaret Kamar.
He further said that the process was smooth and challenged officers in charge of the process to ensure it is free and fair.
“I am impressed with the whole process, the process is transparent and there is nothing that thye have hidden from us at first there were small delays but now everything is going on as planned,” governor Mandago said.
“UDA nomination is a key process in Uasin Gishu which has a support base of over 90 percent of the locals to the party and UDA has been able to hold a nomination far better than how the Jubilee party handled the same process in 2017,” he added.
The Uasin Gishu senatorial seat has attracted aspirants who include Karori Kipchumba, and radio journalist Robert Kemei who vied in 2017 but was defeated by senator Margaret Kamar.
