Governor Jonathan Bii Commends EACC for Asset Recovery Efforts
Governor Jonathan Bii has lauded the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for its effective leadership in the recovery of misappropriated assets, including those within Uasin Gishu County. In a recent statement, Governor Bii highlighted the significant achievement of recovering Ksh 700 million in assets, including vital infrastructure such as the County Referral Hospital.
The commendation came during a handover ceremony held at State House, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. William Samoei Ruto. The event underscored the importance of safeguarding public and government property, reflecting the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
Governor Bii expressed his appreciation for the EACC’s efforts in tackling corruption and restoring public assets. He also emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration between the Commission and county governments to prevent the unlawful holding of assets and to ensure that recovered resources are utilized effectively for the benefit of the public.
“This is a significant step forward in our fight against corruption,” Governor Bii stated. “We commend the EACC for its dedication and strong leadership in asset recovery, and we look forward to continued cooperation to safeguard and manage public resources responsibly.”
