Governor Jonathan Bii Signs MOU With KMTC to Sponsor 300 Youths in the County
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Chelilim has called upon the medical expertise to embrace a paradigm shift and introduce training programs in the production and dispensation of herbal medicine.
Governor Chelilim was speaking on Tuesday when he signed a memorandum of Collaboration with the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) CEO Kelly Oluoch, which will see over 300 youth sponsored to take various courses offered by the college.
“We have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) led by its CEO Mr. Kelly Oluoch in a collaborative framework that seeks to provide training opportunities for over 300 youths in our County. The beneficiaries will be sponsored to study tailor-made courses that suit their preference offered at the institution,” Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii said.
Governor Bii also reiterated that the program also aims to equip youth with skills that will give them better chances of clinching both local and international labor opportunities.
On his part, Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot requested more opportunities for training whereafter will create equally more employment opportunities.
“Wewill ensure that youths are equipped with necessary skills to make them competitive and be able to access local and international opportunities,” he added.
