Governor Kenneth Lusaka Pays Tribute to the Late Mama Anne Nanyama Wetang’ula
Bungoma Governor, H.E. Kenneth Lusaka, has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of Mama Anne Nanyama Wetang’ula, the beloved mother of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi, Fred Wetang’ula, and others.
In his tribute, Governor Lusaka described Mama Anne as a remarkable woman whose life was defined by unwavering faith, selflessness, and a dedication to the community. “Mama Anne was a devout Catholic who not only served the church but also inspired many through her actions and strong moral values. Her commitment to nurturing the next generation, especially through the guidance she provided her children, is evident in the exceptional leadership and character we see in her family today,” Lusaka said.
The Governor further lauded Mama Anne’s role as a community mobilizer and mentor. “Her impact extended far beyond her immediate family. As a matriarch, she positively touched the lives of countless individuals with her wisdom, compassion, and dedication to service. Mama Anne was truly a pillar of hope and inspiration, both within her community and beyond.”
Governor Lusaka also reflected on the powerful legacy Mama Anne leaves behind, which will continue to guide her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. “In this difficult time, we stand with the Wetang’ula family and the entire community in mourning her loss. We take solace in knowing that Mama Anne’s legacy of kindness and faith will live on through her children and the many lives she touched.”
