Governor Mandago Wants KFA Devolved to Counties

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago  has called on legislators to table a bill to devolve  Kenya Farmers Assciation (KFA) stores reverted  back to counties and be utilized by farmers.

He said doing so, Mandago says, the counties with silos will help farmers to store their produce as they wait for the market.

The Governor  noted that the stores are currently not benefiting the farmers.

KFA has 67 branches countrywide but only 33 stores are operational with most of them operating below the capacity.

Mandago was speaking during an internment ceremony of the late Willie Kibet Arap Maina at Ziwa-Cheplelaibei.

Mandago also urged the residents to continue adhering to the ministry of health’s measures so as to help to flatten the curve of the pandemic.

On his part Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno said. “take the heed of county government by planting the promotional crops. They are valuable, they will improve and uplift our living standards.”
