Governor Natembeya commissions Kaptien Dispensary

Following a direct intervention by Governor George Natembeya, Trans Nzoia’s health sector has seen a significant boost.

The governor has recently commissioned the Kaptien Dispensary in Sirende ward, Kiminini Sub County, on top of supplying drugs and non-pharmaceuticals to the health facilities in the county.

In his remarks at the event, the county chief vowed to help Trans Nzoia residents get better health care. It is his commitment to making sure that wananchi can access quality services at their doorstep.

For years, Trans Nzoia residents have travelled kilometres to access certain services like health care, he said, adding his administration would stop the practice.

According to the governor, newly constructed health facilities will help boost primary health services like immunizations, maternal health, and preventive health care.

According to him, the county will upgrade all dispensaries into health centres, which will boost service delivery and introduce other services.

“The facility and others will be expanded, the land will be increased, electricity, piped water, and road networks will be connected,” said Governor Natembeya.

To address residents’ health challenges, medical staff has been posted at the facility already. To seek medical attention, residents have been traveling to Uasin Gishu county.

Trans Nzoia County and ward-specific funds funded the construction of the facility.

He added that his administration is committed to reducing the child mortality rate and improving maternal health.

In attendance were: the county secretary Truphosa Amere, CECMS Samson Ojwang (PSM), Phanice Khatundi (Agriculture), Boniface Wanyonyi (Finance), Dr. Pepela Wanjala (Health), Patrick Gacheru (Water), COS Dr. Emmanuel Wanjala Dickson Wamocho Chief of Staff, Sammy Sichangi, area MCA Waswa among other
