Governor Natembeya Empowers Vulnerable Businesses with Financial Support
In a bid to bolster the economic prospects of vulnerable businesses in Trans Nzoia County, Governor George Natembeya has called upon the finance department to expedite payments to suppliers and contractors immediately upon delivery.
This directive, emphasized during a recent consignment reception at the Town Hall from Lulingo Suppliers, aims to ensure that suppliers receive timely compensation for their services.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Natembeya underscored the importance of prompt payment, stating that it enables suppliers to realize the full value of their products and services. Lulingo Suppliers, among the smaller companies owned by vulnerable individuals, has been a beneficiary of the governor’s commitment to providing business opportunities to uplift livelihoods within the community.
Furthermore, Governor Natembeya reiterated his pledge to offer financial assistance through the Nawiri fund to smaller companies, nurturing their growth into larger enterprises. “My government will provide starting capital and more tenders to smaller companies,” affirmed Natembeya, emphasizing his administration’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and economic development.
In light of potential challenges, the governor urged suppliers, especially those new to the business, to manage their profits prudently and avoid internal conflicts that could jeopardize sustainability. “Some members of the companies do start conflicts among themselves after they receive the first payment, this should not be the case,” cautioned the governor, stressing the importance of cohesion within business entities.
Expressing gratitude, representatives from Lulingo Suppliers, led by Fredrick Wanjala, commended Governor Natembeya and his government for awarding them a tender to supply ream papers. They appealed to the county government for continued consideration in future opportunities, highlighting the significance of such contracts in ensuring the financial stability of their companies.
As Trans Nzoia County strives to empower local businesses and foster economic resilience, Governor Natembeya’s proactive measures underscore a commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development within the region.
