Governor Natembeya Presides Over the Annual Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund Sensitization Initiative
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya presided over the annual Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund sensitization and distribution initiative at the Kitale ASK grounds.
Natembeya was accompanied by CS for Cooperatives, Simon Chelugui.
” I urge farmers to embrace crop diversification, particularly focusing on coffee farming. Coffee’s global recognition and attractive prices make it a compelling choice to broaden their income base and move beyond the limitations of maize dependence,” he said.
To support this shift, he says his government has proactively implemented a program offering subsidies for seedlings of diverse crops like coffee, tea, tissue culture banana, and macadamia.
” This initiative aims to empower our farmers with the resources they need to explore new avenues for growth and prosperity, ” he added.
” I am confident that our farmers, empowered by government support and driven by a diversified crop portfolio, will continue to be the backbone of our county’s economic strength and resilience, ” the County boss said.
The event was also graced by other guests, including PS Cooperative Patrick Kilemi, Agriculture CECM Phanice Khatundi, and a delegation of MCAs led by Minority Leader Erick Mwangale.
