Governor Rotich Offers Free Eye Surgical Camp
Hundreds of patients lined up for free eye surgical operation in Iten County Referral Hospital ICRH.
Governor Wisley Rotich toured the facility to witness the exercise that has attracted patients across the region.
County government authorities in Elgeyo Marakwet and neighboring Uasin Gishu organized free transport for the elderly patients to and from Iten County Referral Hospital ICRH.
Additional specialist surgeons from Litein Mission Hospital and Association of Kenya Society for the Blind arrived in the hospital to beef up the operations.
The team attended close to 100 patients on Tuesday alone and will continue upto Friday, 29th.
Governor Rotich commended Dr Marion Kurgat led team of surgeons and eye- care workers for the impressive exercise.
The exercise is supported by partners including Charity Vision, Kenya Society for the blind and One sight international.
People with eye problems are encouraged to visit Iten ICRH throughout the week.
