The County Government today held a successful free medical camp at HZ Social Hall in Kabiemit Ward, Keiyo South Sub County where about 2,000 people were screened.
Speaking at the event, Governor Wisley Rotich said his administration will focus on preventive healthcare to ensure a healthy populace who can contribute to wealth creation.
Cases screened included hypertension, diabetes, cervical and prostate cancer and TB. Others were ear nose and throat ailments, orthopedic cases, eye screening, HIV testing and counselling and blood donation.Residents also had an opportunity to enrol for NHIF.
“I would like to thank the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council for partnering with us. I also commend our Community Health Volunteers and our health staff for a job well done. The team moves to Embobut Ward tomorrow for a seventh free medical camp screening,” he said.
The exercise will be carried out across all the 20 Wards.
MCAs Alred Barsulai, Lawi Kibire and Eddah Rotich and a team from the county and national governments were present.
