Governor Wycliffe Wangamati has this evening paid a visit to 21students on Governor’s Scholarship at Maranda School in Bondo, Siaya County.

In his address to Students, Wangamati noted that Governor’s Scholarship program that he initiated three years ago, will enable our young boys and girls in schools across the country to take charge of their own future, by offering an opportunity to compete for the good jobs both locally and internationally.

“ To ensure that you students have a shot in the economy of the future, It’s our responsibility as leaders to create programs like Scholarships to support bright but needy students to continue with education. When we were growing up most jobs required only a high school certificate, but that’s just not the case anymore,” Governor Wangamati said.

Principal, Maranda High School, Dr. Edwin Namachanja thanked the Governor for creating time to follow up on his Scholarship beneficiaries saying it’s very rare for to find a leader with such a commitment to education.

“We are honored to have Governor Wangamati visit our school, It is so important for our students to hear about the value of their education and the options available to them after high school. It’s so rare to find such a leader.” said Principal Namachanja.

The Scholarship Scheme is part of Governor Wangamati’s push to ensure that no child from the County misses out on Education
