The chairman of Gospel Entertainment in Rift Valley Gee Kolo has called on the government to help artists who were badly affected by Coronavirus.

Speaking to the press in Eldoret town Kolo said the government should come up with a fund that will help artists.

“Artists were badly affected when Coronavirus pandemic knocked on our doors sending many to depression since they could not pay their bills, our request to the government is that they should come up with a fund which will be given to the artists for them to rise again,” said Kolo while speaking to the press.

He also called on media houses to ensure that they play at least 75 percent of local content saying this will support a local artist.

“I want to call upon all media houses to kindly come to our rescue by at least playing 75 percent of local content, let us support our own local talent which will help the artist earn a living,” said Kolo

“It’s not good to get artists from other countries and pay them to allot of money yet we have our own, it’s sad that we don’t appreciate our artists. If an artist comes from abroad should be paid the same amount as that one from Kenya, this is the only way that we will build our artist,” he said.
