This is the Hon MP. Abdul Haro Kore member of parliament elected to represent Mandera South in the National Assembly.
“When the El Niño rains were pounding Elwak, all roads to the area were cut off and the only airstrip was flooded…. Movement of goods and people became difficult causing alot of anxiety to the residents….
Seeking for solutions by whatever means necessary took me to the steps of a local investor and airline agent Hon. Dido Mrash who immediately took steps to invest some resources to repair Elwak airstrip in order to open up the area to ease flow of business and relief support.
After receiving necessary approvals Hon. Dido Mrash went ahead to implement the renovation works at Elwak Airstrip at his own cost. The works have since been completed and airplanes have resumed landing.
Thank you @Mrash for your generous contribution towards the renovation of a section of Elwak Airstrip runway. I am aware the grading works included the whole section, including apron.
The renovation works of the airstrip runway has helped in facilitating smooth landing and take-off and will ultimately accommodate increasing air traffic and ease movement of goods and people to Elwak.”
