Hon Zamzam: We won’t be cowed
Hata mtupige teargas hakuna kurudi nyuma. On this #Maandamanowednesday, it remains a reality that majority of Kenyans are feeling the pinch of the high cost of living.
Today together with the Mombasa leadership led by our ODM chairman Hon Mohamed Hamid Khamis, Kisauni MP Hon. Hon. Rashid Bedzimba, Jomvu MP Hon. Hon Badi Twalib Bady, Likoni MP Hon. HON. MISHI MBOKO, Mombasa Senator Hon Faki Mwinyihaji and other leaders, We joined the patriots of Mombasa for the peaceful anti-government protests which were disrupted the police.
The government should stop using excessive force through the police since the power belongs to the people. It’s high time to note that no amount of arrest, intimidation, harrassment or threat will stop us from fighting for the common mwananchi.
The right to protest is protected by the Constitution under Article 37 and It’s only dictators who stop people from taking part in such a peaceful protest to demand for their dignity and democratic rights.
We demand immediate release of our arrested patriotic Kenyans who were arrested today during the peaceful protests. Their rights & democratic freedoms is essential and should be respected.
