Housing and Urban Development Prioritising New Look to Eldoret

Uasin Gishu County is experiencing rapid Urban growth and with it, demand for the need to increase infrastructure developments is on the rise.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development mandated to ensure Urban growth is in order is taking up the tasks and is undertaking various development projects to improve the city’s outlook with an aim to enhance service provision to all residents.

Director Housing Ms Beatrice Menjo, together with resident engineer Eng. Benjamin Maiyo and the County Architect Mr. Gabriel Rimo, accompanied contractors to various sites where projects are set to kick off.

Ms. Menjo urged all contractors to ensure that they meet the timeliness allocated for each work and observe integrity.

Eng. Maiyo said that quality work is expected from each contractor and the supervision team would be working closely with them to provide guidance on works specifications.

Among the sites and works to be done include:- Construction of road section along Sports club, Construction of curio shops at korosiot, improvement of Korosiot round about, Construction of shoe shine shades opposite zion mall, gate at the County headquarters, installation of solar street lights at the CBD and road markings.
