Huruma ward aspirant Kimani Wanjohi donates Mattresses and Blankets to Sungura Estate Fire Survivors
Huruma ward aspirant on a jubilee party ticket Kimani Wanjohi has donated mattresses, blankets, and other personal things t the people of Sungura estate, Huruma.
This comes after a fire razed down houses that led to the loss of property.
“Today we have come to cry with our friends who have lost their property due to the fiery inferno, we have brought them mattresses, blankets, and foodstuff to at least have something to smile about,” said Wanjohi after visiting them.
This comes after over twenty houses were razed living 35 families were left homeless.
“As we are talking over 35 families have been rendered homeless and have nothing to eat, I am calling upon all well-wishers to come out with whatever little they have to help them since thye cannot get even a single meal per day,” he added.
“What I have done is not enough compared to what is needed, we want organizations like red cross, Hum rights Organizations,and NGOS should come in handy and support the affected families,’ he said.
He said students sitting for their KCSE examinations have been badly affected and might affect the examination outcome.
“It is sad that it will be hard for them to sit for the examination since they have nowhere to sleep, they don’t have mattresses they sleep on the floor how do you expect such a person to perform well,” he added.
Wakili Wanjohi called on the Uasin Gishu National Assembly to use the funds meant for disaster management to help the affected families.
“We are urging the county assembly because it has funds for an emergency to come and help those affected so that their life can continue since as I am talking they are in dire need . Redcross should come out and help the affected families,” he said.
