IEBC Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera Resigns

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner and Vice-chairperson Juliana Cherera has resigned.
Through a resignation letter addressed to President William Ruto, Cherera says her stay at the commission is no longer tenable and therefore chooses to vacate.

“It is with immense woe that today I tender my resignation as commissioner and vice chair person of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC),” she said.

She says she dispensed her duties diligently and putted a spirited effort in helping the commission cooperate governance issues under very difficult circumstances.

“My Cumulative actions done in good faith are unfortunately misjudged and misinterpreted. After careful consideration of the current events at the commission and thee consultation with family and lawyers, I accept that my stay at the commission is no longer tenable and therefore chooses to vacate,|” she added.

“I sincerely thank His Excellency Hon. Dr William Samoei Ruto, the President of the Republic of Kenya for opportunity accorded to me to serve the Republic. God Bless Kenya,” he added.
