Igembe South MP Paul Mwrigi Threatens to Return President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Car Gift
Kenya’s youngest MP, John Paul Mwirigi, says he does not owe allegiance to President Uhuru Kenyatta for buying him his first car.
Through his official Facebook page Mwirigi thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for gifting him a car.
“First and foremost, let me thank His Excellency the President for gifting me a car in the year 2017. I am much humbled now as I was then. Secondly, I wish to appreciate the President for gifting me wholeheartedly without expecting anything in return,” he said.
He noted that a number of leaders have been castigating him claiming that by supporting DP Ruto is disrespecting the president.
His Facebook page received mixed reactions here are some of their comments.
“I will be very categorical on this issue. I have never insulted or disrespected the president in anyway and I am not planning to do so at any time. But note, my allegiance to His Excellency DP William Ruto will not change at all,” he said.
“If at all CS Munya is speaking for the president,(since he as done this repeatedly in different occasions), I may, for the sake of my peace of mind and independence consider returning the gift. I will not bear the blackmail by the CS anymore. And, If the attacks are an orchestrated plan to co-erce me to change my decision, well it will be an exercise in futility,”
Makore says “Young man if at all you were wise you wouldn’t engage in that conversation. This politics. He assisted you when it mattered then he has not raised questions on that, why are you blanketing your response to impune the president so as to please you master. Kwa kweli mtoto akishiba anasema wachome ghala,”
Tyson Gikundi wrote “We are behind you honorable don’t be worries by munya’s futile claims on your relationship with the president. You’re a movement and they know it. Keep moving forward you have our support,”
Sammy “Uhuru gave you the gift in good faith,, don’t return it . Munya is only using you as an escapegoat for the embarrassment they are getting in the Mt Kenya region,”
