Impact of Elnino on Schools

Mandera South MP Abdul Haro Kore has shared with us impact of Elnino on Schools

The heavy impact of the current el-nino floods on schools will be known in the fullness of time but it is a fact that schools have suffered heavy physical and non-physical losses.

Generally, educational services in Elwak and its environs were severely disrupted by the flood disaster. This is likely to have an impact on the outcome of the ongoing national exams of KPSEA, KCPE and KCSE.

The current situation has even made it hard for children with disabilities or significant injuries or those who are sick from accessing educational services including the ongoing exams.

We will get to know the full impact of the damage of el-nino rains during the recovery phase….

Schools in Elwak are resilient and national exams have gone on unhindered despite the flooding challenges…

In picture…Thank you teachers supervising exams at Tawakal Mixed Secondary School Mohamud Tulicha, Said Hassan Ali and Abdullahi Robow for you act of patriotism and sense of duty… TSC should award you medals.
