Farmers party leader who also doubles up as the chairman of the Kenya medical supplies agency Irungu Nyakera has taken a moment to share with us a thought.

“While I support the democratic space that allowed certain individuals to go to court to stop Governments Social Health agenda, I subscribe to the viewpoint that you don’t fight a battle where you don’t gain anything by winning it.

The spirit of UHC is that every Kenyan, regardless of who they are, can access a hospital and get treatment without suffering financial hardship.

Can you imagine that on emergency and chronic illness such as cancer, every Kenyan will be treated in every hospital without any questions or need to make prior payments? Those village harambees for paying medical bills will be a thing of the past.

Surely, how can that be a bad thing!”
