Jepchirchir wins women’s Half Marathon

Peres Jepchirchir successfully defended her World Half Marathon title after clocking one hour, seven minutes and 25 seconds in Riga, Latvia on Sunday.
Margaret Chelimo (1:07:26) and Catherine Reline (1:07:34) secured a Kenyan podium with silver and bronze respectively with Irene Kimais settling for fifth in 1:08:02
With the victory Jepchirchir moved joint with the trio of Tegla Lorupe, Paula Radcliffe and Lorna Kiplagat with three wins at the global event.
The Olympic champion bagged the world titles previously in 2016 and 2020.
