Jijenge Credit Calls for Environmental Action on Mazingira Day
In a passionate address on Mazingira Day, Mr. Peter Macharia Kamau, Managing Director and CEO of Jijenge Credit Limited, emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship as part of the company’s commitment to sustainability.
Mr. Kamau urged all Kenyans to actively participate in protecting their environment by planting and nurturing at least ten trees each, aligning with the date of October 10. He highlighted that this initiative is crucial in combating the pressing issues of climate change that the globe faces today.
“The reality of climate change is no longer a distant threat; it is here with us,” Mr. Kamau stated. He pointed to rising temperatures, erratic weather patterns, and recent flash floods that have tragically impacted communities across the country.
As Kenya grapples with the severe impacts of climate change, Mr. Kamau’s call to action encourages a collective effort towards preserving biodiversity and ensuring a sustainable future. Jijenge Credit Limited continues to stand at the forefront of microfinance in East Africa while prioritizing environmental responsibility and community engagement.
