Joy As over 300 Eldoret Street Children Celebrate Valentines in Style
It was Joy and dance for over three street children in Eldoret after Moi University students donated foodstuffs and clothes to them as they celebrated valentines day.
According to Glory Gathure student leader in charge of social welfare, special needs, and security of all the campus, this was to show love to the street children as others were celebrating Valentine’s days.
“Since valentines day is a day to show the love we decided together with my friends and sponsors led by area MCA Lucy Chomba do it differently with street children where we showed them that we love and value them,” said Gathure while speaking to the press.
The Moi University played, cooked, and donated clothing to the street children who turned up in large numbers.
” In the future, we want to make it a mentorship program because in Uasin Gishu we have few rescue centers and I believe if those kids are talked to thye are going to open their minds and will see things differently people are concerned with them,” she added.
Sam Wanjohi student leader in charge of academics Annex Campus said it was good to show love to the less fortunate while others were celebrating love.
“Most of the time during valentines we used to take our loved ones out but this time around we decided to spend our time with street children who at times are ignored by separated from the society by shoeing them love giving them food, we want them to feel part of us,” he said.
