Jubilee SG Speaks on Dabibi Land Tussle

Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni’s attention has been drawn to a burning issue concerning the Dabibi land tussle (Mwana Mwireri Rironi Naivasha company) owned by a group of Senior Citizens who are now facing an imminent threat of being evicted.

This is because their land has been claimed by a powerful private developer, who is causing them sleepless nights. Kioni in a press conference on Friday, pointed an accusing finger to President William Ruto whom he claimed is behind the woes of the over 30 bonafide owners of the land in question.

“These people started to buy shares for that land way back in 1971, during the term of the founding Father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. The issue spilled over to the late President Daniel Moi tenure who equally left the owners of the land in a standoff with the Agricultural Development Corporation – ADC. Now instead of President Ruto assisting these people, he is using his position to exercabate their predicament. These are the same hustlers who stood with him an owned up his hustler narrative. Leaving them to suffer like this is unjust and one is left to wonder why Ruto had to wait to ascend to power to claim ownership of the parcel of land,” Kioni noted.

In a different subject matter on Thursday, Jeremiah Kioni pointed an accusing finger at the Kenya Kwanza Administration for revoking licenses of bars. Mr. Kioni opined that such a directive is ill-timed now that the majority of the current operators of bars are already fully compliant with the set laws regarding the sale of alcohol.

‘The closure of bars not only disrupts livelihoods but also ignores the rigorous standards set by regulatory bodies such as the Kenya Bureau of Standards and the Kenya Revenue Authority. It is imperative to address the root causes of social issues rather than resorting to arbitrary closures that only serve to exacerbate economic hardship.”
