Kabalborokwo Dispensary in Elgeyo Marakwet opens its doors For Patients
Kabalborokwo dispensary today started its operations after being commisioned by Ag. Health CEC Abraham Barsosio.
The health facility is staffed and fully equipped with medicines and a maternal delivery bed.
Residents of Kabalborokwo have in the past travelled several kilometers to Iten County Referral hospital or Kaptarakwa Health Centre to seek medical services which mekes it more costly.
The opening of the dispensary will ease decongetion at the ICRH and Kaptrakwa Health Centre which will receive more of referral cases. Kabalborokwo is projected to serve 1,200 householdsin the community.
Adressing the community during the commisioning, Barsosio commended the Kabalborokwo dipensaary committee for steering the move to open the facility in the area as very professional. He expressed confidence in them to manage the facilty to be one of the best dispensary’s in the County.
Health Chief Officer, Mary Kipchumba, called on all expectant women to make good use of the facility by visiting the clinic for check ups and delivery. She assured residents that the County Government was on course to ensure health services are easily acessible and affordable for all.
In attendance was Kaptrakwa ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Gilbert Kosgei, Deputy director planning Solomon Kandie, Keiyo South subcounty health team, Kenya forestry representatives among others.
