Kakamega Governor’s Cup Enters Quarter Finals Stage
Kakamega County Governor’s Football Bonanza entered its second day on Friday with several matches being staged at the respective designated venues.
Crowds favourite Solofa booked a quarter final date with Sango Rangers after trouncing Bukhaywa by two goals to nil in an entertaining duel played at Booker Academy grounds.
Umri, the other quarter finalists, beat Lubinu Rangers by the same margin at the Mumias Sports Complex to set a date with Buchifi, a match that is expected to bring Mumias town to a standstill tomorrow (Saturday). Nangili and Samitsi both from the Northern region of the County will lock horns at the Mumias Complex stadium in the third quarter final while Titanic and the missile launching Lirhembe Arsenal battle for a semifinal place at the Booker Academy grounds
All matches begin at 9am.
Ladies will also be in action today with two matches on card at the semifinal stage. Lugari Prog will face off with Isulu Starlets at Booker Academy while the Mumias Sports Complex will host the exciting Mwira Ladies Vs Misango Queens contest. Both matches will kick off at 11am.
