Kapletingi Mixed Day School: A Success Story of Growth and Excellence
In the serene surroundings of Flux Sub-location, nestled within Chepkorio Division of Keiyo South Sub-county, lies Kapletingi Mixed Day School.
What started as a modest venture within Kapletingi Primary School in 2010 has blossomed into a thriving educational institution, all thanks to the visionary leadership of Principal Francis Kipngeno Tanui.
Appointed on February 7th, 2012, Principal Tanui, affectionately known as ‘Man Frank’, brought with him a wealth of experience from his tenure at Singore Girls. With just eight students under his wing at the onset, he embarked on a journey of transformation that would leave an indelible mark on the community.
Through his motivational teaching approach and meticulous management style, Principal Tanui spearheaded Kapletingi’s remarkable growth.
From a mere handful of students to a staggering population of over 700, the school’s expansion stands as a testament to his dedication and vision.
Key to Kapletingi’s success has been Principal Tanui’s emphasis on academic excellence. Acting as mentor, counselor, and professional teacher, he has fostered an environment where learning thrives. As a result, Kapletingi boasts of being the only day school in Keiyo South with such a high enrollment rate.
The community’s support has been instrumental in Kapletingi’s journey. With 32 teaching staff, 12 support staff, and over 600 parents and guardians actively involved, the school has become a beacon of educational excellence in the region.
But Kapletingi’s success story goes beyond numbers. It’s about creating a conducive learning environment where discipline reigns supreme. With effective guiding and counseling services, the school ensures that students not only excel academically but also navigate the challenges of adolescence with resilience.
Moreover, Kapletingi has invested in infrastructure development, with modern facilities like a Science Laboratory enhancing the learning experience. The Ministry of Education’s support, coupled with the school’s own initiatives, has led to the establishment of 16 permanent classrooms and a state-of-the-art administration block.
The school’s dedication to holistic education has yielded impressive results. From just two students transitioning to university in 2012 to a staggering 50 in recent years, Kapletingi has become a springboard for higher education.
Beyond academics, Kapletingi has garnered accolades from various organizations for its commitment to the community. Whether it’s through academic achievements or sporting triumphs, the school’s disciplined approach has earned it recognition far and wide.
Looking ahead, Principal Tanui envisions Kapletingi Mixed Day School as a trailblazer in the evolving educational landscape. With the transition from the 8-4-4 system to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), the school stands ready to embrace change and continue its legacy of excellence.
Kapletingi Mixed Day School’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of education. From humble beginnings to educational prominence, the school serves as an inspiration to communities everywhere, proving that with dedication, vision, and unwavering support, anything is possible.
