Kapseret Residents Want Security Beefed Up After a Man’s Decomposed Body was Dumped
A section of residents in Simat, Kapseret ward on the outskirts of Eldoret want the government to beef up security following the dumping of a decomposed man’s body in the ward.
The decomposed body was in a metallic box.
Speaking to the press, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) of Kapseret/Simat ward, Moses Kipchumba Kebenei said there have been increased cases of insecurity.
“I want to call upon the county commander and OCPD to act at speed since security in the area has deteriorated, we want the police to increase police patrols in the area,” said the Simat/ Kapseret Ward MCA.
Kebenei said that it’s sad that residents are now fearing for their lives and cannot walk freely as thye used to.
He said the dumped deceased is unknown to the members of the surrounding area.
“The murder case is among some of the insecurity cases that have been the order of the day, just recently the borehole pumps were stolen by unknown people last week. We want security beefed up with immediate effect. “said Kipchumba
He promised to meet all community councils of elders to discuss how to work together with the locals to improve security.
“We are also looking forward to grading all roads in the Simat location and ensuring bush clearing to maximize security in all roads and the nearby areas.”said Kipchumba.
One of the residents, Joel Bondotich called on the government to put measures to enforce security and protect human lives and property.
“Let the government come out and save us from this insecurity menace, the government should ensure bush clearance and street lighting to boost the level of safety and security in the area,” he said.
