Keiyo South member of parliament Daniel Rono has hit at the opposition leader Raila Odinga after he said that he will Jail deputy president William Ruto when he becomes president.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret Rono said the move is uncalled for and only meant to tarnish the good name of the deputy president’s name ahead of the 2022 presidential election.
“I want to condemn the recent utterances by the opposition leader Raila Odinga that he will jail William Ruto once elected as president, which law will he use, what evidence does he have against Ruto, how aim is just to get political mileage,” said the Keiyo South MP.
He says if a person is corrupt he leaves she should be arrested and taken to court.
“You cannot say that Ruto is corrupt and you don’t have evidence or is it because he helps Bodaboda operators, mama mboga and giving in churches? he wondered.
He wondered why the opposition chief despite being rich does not not donate anything to Kenyans passing through a bad time.
He, however, welcomed the move by President Uhuru Kenyatta of supporting a NASA presidential candidate.
“We don’t have a problem with that since history has shown that it hard for any person president supports to win elections deceased president Daniel Moi supported Uhuru Kenyatta 2002 but he failed terribly, there is no cause of alarm,” he added.
