Civil servants have been promised a yearly salary increase should the Kenya Kwanza alliance form government.

Speaking in a rally at Mwea town, Kirinyaga County, the alliance’s principal and Amani National Congress party leader Hon Musalia W Mudavadi said their administration will implement a policy that promotes career growth for civil servant and yearly salary increment.

“We want to have a government that will ensure that public servants have a contract that increases their pay yearly, and not waiting for the international organisations to decide for us when to increase the pay for our workers,” he said.

The Amani leader said the country’s civil service workforce is highly demotivated with many people having remained in the same job group for years without salary pay.

Mudavadi promised of urgent reforms within the first year in office to ensure civil service is motivated to serve Kenyans better.

At the same time, Mudavadi speaking on behalf of his fellow principals of the alliance that include Deputy President William Ruto, Ford Kenya boss Moses Wetang’ula, exuded confidence that the newly formed alliance will win the August 9th presidential election in round one with a landslide.

The leaders were in Kirinyaga County for a series of rallies starting from Embu town before crowning the day at Mwea town.
Noting that the country is broke and in urgent need of economic recovery measures, Mudavadi said a run-off elections will further strain the coffers, and urged Kenyans to throw their weight behind the Kenya Kwanza leadership, which he said is sure of winning the polls.

“I ask Kenyans to ensure the elections are won in round one so that we avoid a run-off because we have no money. The country is broke,” said Mudavadi.

He added: “Truth be told; Kenya is broke. Kenyans have no money. We are together because we love our country. We want a united government and that is why we say that if you want to build a nation, it is dangerous to have a disunited government.”
Mudavadi said the three leaders agreed to come together because they have shared ideologies meant to resuscitate the economy.

“Many Kenyans are suffering. The taxes are very high and this has made many people not be able to meet their basic needs,” he said.
Deputy President William Ruto said the Kenya Kwanza administration will promote rice farming under the irrigation programme to ensure the country is food secure.
He called on the Kirinyaga people to be weary of imposed leadership.

“There are individuals sitting in boardrooms and hotels planning on how they will impose the Raila Odinga project on Kenyans. I want to ask the ODM leader to respect the youth and forget about bribing them to vote for him,” he said.

The Deputy President called on the people from the central Kenya region to help change the politics of the country by refusing to bow to imposed leadership.

He said his coming together with Mudavadi and Wetang’ula was informed by the fact that their ideologies match.

He disputed claims that their coming together was for personal interests, noting that their partnership is informed by the challenges facing the country.

Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula said the Kenya Kwanza administration will channel more resources to the agriculture sector to ensure farm inputs are affordable.

He said the administration will ensure a universal healthcare and accessible to all Kenyans by ensuring that the poor and most vulnerable have the NHIF card.

Wetangula called on President Uhuru to foster democratic relations with international organizations and other countries as he prepares to exit stage.

“I want to advise Uhuru that he has a rich history in Kenya and that we will want to protect you and ensure you peacefully retire. But this can only happen if you peacefully exit the stage and not forcing a project on Kenyans,” he said.

The Bungoma Senator called on Kenyans to register as voters in big numbers to ensure a resounding win in August 9th elections.
Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagwa said the Mt Kenya region has welcomed the alliance of Ruto and Mudavadi.

“We very much appreciate the newfound relationship between Ruto and Mudavadi. Any person who talks about putting money in people’s pocket is our friend because that is what is important to Kenyans,” he said.

Mr Rigathi warned President Uhuru against imposing Raila on the people, stating that in 2002 the then President Moi tried the ‘Uhuru project’ on the people of Kenya and it failed, adding that his project will also not pass.
ODM leader was on the receiving end from the politicians allied to the newly formed alliance, accusing him of furthering corruption in President Uhuru Kenyatta government.
Garissa Town MP Adan Duale led the troops in asking the ODM leader to peacefully retire with President Kenya.

Mr. Duale claimed that the ODM leader is being pushed by President Uhuru so that he can protect the interests of the dynasties.
Speakers who took to the podium said the ‘Uhuru Project’ will not be allowed to be imposed on Kenyans.

“Azimio is just a turn around of ODM. The State machinery has realized that it cannot sell Raila to Kenyans with his ODM hence the Azimio project,” said Duale.

The host, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, said she won’t allow her people to be sold fear and lies.

She said during the 2013 campaigns, they had said Uhuru would serve his 10 years and handover the mantle to his deputy William Ruto.
