Kenya Launches National Vaccination Program to Enhance Leather and Dairy Quality
Dr. Noor, CEO of the Kenya Leather Development Council, has underscored the importance of disease prevention in the production of high-quality leather, meat, and dairy products. Speaking at a recent press briefing, Dr. Noor highlighted the critical role of optimal disease prevention measures for farmers.
“In order to produce leather, meat, and dairy products of a high standard, we must provide optimal disease prevention measures to our farmers,” Dr. Noor stated. He emphasized that ensuring the health of livestock is integral to maintaining the quality of these products.
The launch of a comprehensive national vaccination program by the State Department of Livestock marks a significant step in this direction. This initiative aims to bolster disease prevention across the country, reflecting a strong commitment to improving livestock health and, by extension, the quality of Kenyan leather and dairy products.
The program will roll out in phases, targeting various regions and prioritizing high-risk areas. It includes vaccination against common and debilitating diseases that affect livestock, thereby enhancing productivity and product quality.
This national effort is expected to not only boost the local leather and dairy industries but also improve overall food security and economic stability within the agricultural sector.
The Kenya Leather Development Council, alongside the State Department of Livestock, continues to advocate for and support initiatives that promote sustainable and high-quality agricultural practices.
