Kenya lose to Algeria in the Rugby Africa Cup semi finals
Kenya Simbas have been knocked out of the Rugby Africa Cup after a 20-12 loss to Algeria at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Namboole, Uganda.
This was a repeat of the 2022 Rugby Africa Cup semi-final which saw, the Simbas winning 36-33 in France to reach the final.
It was an optimum unweighted contest for both teams in the opening minutes, with Algeria garnering the first points through Julien Serge Caminati to tally 03-00 in the fourth minute. Minutes later Timothy Okwemba missed his penalty in an attempt to level the score for the Simbas.
The Simbas failed to make good use of crucial attacking line-outs but managed a try through the vice-captain Eugene Sifuna from a close range and Okwemba added the extra two points to take a lead 07-03.
Algeria pulled back and overtook the Simbas as Fares Leulmi Pierre Boulkenafet danced and sidestepped his marker passing the ball to Thomas Patrick Lacroix, who score
