Kenya Society for deaf CEO Committed to help hearing-impaired children

The Kenya Society for deaf children under the leadership of chief executive officer Rhoda Kabiti has reaffirmed its commitment to continue looking into the welfare of the hearing-impaired children in the country.

This was underscored when the society launched the Dechi hearing center and clinics the launch was witnessed by Nairobi woman representative the Hon. MP Esther Passaris, a nominated member of parliament Muthoni, senior government officials including union officials drawn from the Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT, Kenya union of post-primary education teachers KUPPET Akelo Misori among other distinguished leaders.

In her remarks, the chief executive officer passionately talked about the need for concerted efforts in addressing the issues of those with hearing impairments

On their part, the legislators present pledged to bring to the floor of the House pieces of legislation that will make hearing aids accessible and accessible for all. Specifically, Esther Passaris pledged to allocate 10% of the bursary to cater to people living with a disability.
