Kenyan Officials and Citizens Unite for National Tree Planting Day

Today marked a significant step forward in Kenya’s environmental conservation efforts as government officials and citizens alike joined forces to plant trees across the nation. Led by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya, Dr. William Ruto PhD, CGH, and guided by the initiative to plant 15 billion trees by 2032, the National Tree Planting Day saw widespread participation.

In a remarkable display of unity and dedication to a greener future, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of MSEA (Micro Small Enterprises Authority), Henry Rithaa, along with MSEA Board Members and regional heads, joined hands with fellow Kenyan citizens to plant trees at Corner Baridi, Ngong Hills Forest, Kajiado County. The event was graced by the presence of the Attorney General, Hon. Justin Muturi, who led the proceedings.

Expressing his satisfaction with the day’s accomplishments, the President stated, “Following the directive of the president, we have planted 100,000 trees today at Oldonyo Orok in Namanga. I am impressed by the turnout of people to take part in this important exercise. Let us strive to achieve a green and better environment for tomorrow and our future generations.”

The collective effort demonstrated today reflects the nation’s commitment to environmental stewardship and underscores the importance of individual and collective action in combating climate change.
