Kenya’s Law Society President Urges Young Lawyers to Embrace AI at Nairobi Convention
The President of the Law Society of Kenya, Faith Odhiambo, has called on young legal practitioners to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance their practice. Speaking at the Young Lawyers Convention hosted by the East African Law Society (EALS) in Nairobi this morning, Odhiambo highlighted the transformative potential of AI in the legal sector.
In her address, Odhiambo emphasized the importance of integrating AI tools to boost productivity and efficiency. “We must embrace technology as an invaluable resource in fast-tracking the growth of our practice space,” she said. She stressed the need for legal professionals to align with global standards and trends to meet the demands of an increasingly globalized economy.
Odhiambo encouraged attendees to leverage AI to overcome regional barriers and expand their reach across borders. “Let us use AI to break barriers and go across our regional borders,” she urged. The convention aimed to address emerging issues related to AI in law practice, marking a significant step in the integration of advanced technology into the legal field in East Africa.
