Kesses Member of parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra donated car washing machines and water tanks to various youths groups in his constituency.
He said his aim is to ensure that youths are empowered financially.
“Today I have donated 5,000 litres water tank and car washing machines to youths in various group.By empowering youth through groups it is evident that we can change the unemployment narrative currently experienced in our constituency and the country at large,” said the Kesses legislator.
The group that benefited include Chepkoiya Youth group and Chepkigen Self Help group who have been conducting their car washing business manually.
He said the root core of good leadership is to transform and develop lives of people in all aspects for them to depend on themselves.
“I am investing in viable dreams by providing the requisite equipments, which will boost the livelihoods of the unemployed youths and provide a fertile ground for them to unlock their potential as enshrined in his workable manifesto,” Dr Mishra said.
Chepkigen Self Help group chairman William Korir thanked the Kesses legislator for the noble course saying the machine will help them since thy were washing vehicles manually.
“This is a dream come true, we want to thank our MP for remembering us, he has done something which no other MP has ever done, We are really grateful,” he said.
The Kesses legislator further donated Tilapia fingerlings sourced from Lake Victoria and fish feed to Lakeside Youths in Kesses Township, Tulwet/Chuiyat Ward.
He, however, called on Kenyans to continue following the directives by the Ministry of Health to prevent further spread of COVID-19.
