Kipkombot Primary School celebrated a significant milestone today as it embarked on its first-ever educational tour, a gesture made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Rotich and other alumni. The day was marked by visits to prominent local institutions, including Rivatex East Africa Limited, Eldoret National Airport, and Poa Place.

The tour was a dream realized for the students of Kipkombot Primary School, who had previously faced numerous challenges. According to Madam Anne Sitienei, Deputy Head Teacher of Kipkombot Primary, the school’s situation had been precarious, with issues such as inadequate fencing and low enrolment figures. However, Dr. Rotich’s visit to the school highlighted these concerns and spurred him and fellow alumni into action.

“Dr. Rotich’s commitment to addressing our school’s needs has made a significant impact,” Sitienei stated. “Since his involvement, we’ve seen a marked improvement in student enrolment, with an additional 15 students joining this year, bringing the total to 130.”

The school’s progress has been bolstered by various forms of support, including the donation of trees and fencing materials, which were part of Dr. Rotich’s broader effort to enhance the school’s infrastructure. Pastor Kurgat David, the school chaplain, acknowledged these contributions, expressing gratitude for the assistance provided. He also urged the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to consider adding more teaching staff to accommodate the growing number of students.

Mr. Julius Keter, a member of the school’s board, emphasized the joy and excitement surrounding the tour. “This visit is not just a field trip; it’s a testament to how our community’s support has transformed our school. Seeing our children explore beyond their county is a true manifestation of the hand of God.”

The students’ day began with a tour of Rivatex East Africa Limited, a leading textile company. Charles Lagat, the Strategy and Planning Manager at Rivatex, highlighted the importance of such visits. “Industrial visits are an integral part of our educational strategy. They provide students with insights into the textile manufacturing process and help them understand potential career paths.”

The students also had the opportunity to explore Eldoret National Airport, gaining valuable knowledge about aviation, and visited Poa Place, an entertainment and learning center in Eldoret, which provided a fun and educational experience.

Jonathan Serem, a parent, expressed appreciation for Dr. Rotich’s unwavering dedication to improving educational quality at Kipkombot Primary. “We are grateful to Dr. Rotich and all the parents who support our school. The energy and enthusiasm of our students reflect the positive changes occurring here.”

Today’s tour not only offered a glimpse into various professions and industries but also marked a pivotal moment in the school’s journey toward greater educational success. The combined efforts of the school, community, and alumni continue to drive positive change, ensuring a brighter future for Kipkombot Primary’s students.
