The County government of Trans Nzoia has established a committee tasked with allocating business spaces at the upcoming Masinde Muliro Market in Kitale.

County Secretary Truphosa Amere and CEC for Trade Patrick Gacheru assured traders of a fair allocation process during a meeting with Soko Mjinga Committee Members.

“The governor constituted a committee for space allocation to ensure fairness, and let me assure our traders that all of the genuine traders will be considered,” said Gacheru.

Construction of the market is on schedule for completion by mid-May 2024, according to an agreement with the contractor. An official opening is planned for August 2024, paving the way for its use by traders.

With a capacity of 3,600 traders, the Masinde Muliro Market is a major project undertaken by the Trans Nzoia County government.
