“We want to request the Teachers Service Commission to consider promoting teachers from different job groups , there are teachers in job group B5, C1, C2 who have never been promoted .TSC should ensure that teachers are given promotions just like other teachers,” he said.

He says that they have discovered that teachers in C5 job group category have not given promotions to go to D1 yet high school principals have been promoted .

“TSC should consider primary head teachers because they are playing very good role like JSS, ECD and primary section .We also have teachers who are professors and doctors in primary and are still teaching in primary school with the same salaries .We want those teachers who have proceeded with education their salaries must be increased,” he added.

On the issues of comprehensive school Tuei said the current head teachers should not be demoted but instead should be left as the head of comprehensive schools until they retire since they have experience, know students and understand the environment well.
