KRA PARTNERS WITH BUSIA MUNICIPALITY TO PROVIDE MODERN BODA BODA SHEDS
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) through the One Stop Border Post property and estates section has partnered with the municipality of Busia to provide modern boda boda sheds.
The sheds, which are part of KRA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, are aimed at improving road safety for bodaboda riders and their passangers.
“This shed has improved our boda boda business since we have an ample place to shield from the sun and rain while waiting for clients.” Oscar Mayabi, a rider at Bulanda, stated.
So far, two sheds have been constructed, one at Public works-Township primary junction and the other at Stadium gate-Bulanda road junction.
The Town Planner, Bryan Abwaku, lauded KRA’s efforts and the early success of this partnership with the municipality.
“KRA has set the precedence and it is our hope that more corporate entities will follow suit and give back to the people,” he said.
A total of 400 beneficiaries are expected for both sheds, with the riders calling for more stakeholders to step up and build more to replace the current makeshift stractures
