The Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) marked International Men’s Day with a heartfelt message from Chief Executive Officer, Wilson Muthaura, acknowledging the significant role men play in the success of Kenya’s tea industry.

In a statement, Muthaura expressed gratitude for the contributions of men, from the farmers on the ground to the skilled workers in the factories, all of whom are integral to the production of Kenya’s renowned tea.

“We celebrate the incredible men who make our tea journey possible. From the hardworking farmers to the skilled factory workers, your dedication brews the perfect cup. To our valued male customers, remember, a cup of Kenyan tea isn’t just a drink; it’s a health boost. Bond over a cup of tea, share stories, and raise a cup to the power of brotherhood and the goodness of tea,” Muthaura said.

The KTDA has long been a driving force in empowering small-scale tea farmers across the country, and under Muthaura’s leadership, the organization has seen remarkable growth. This has translated into better returns for farmers, improved livelihoods, and a stronger position for Kenyan tea in the global market.

KTDA has also focused on sustainability, innovation, and the promotion of Kenya’s tea, ensuring it remains a key player in the international marketplace. Through his visionary leadership, Muthaura has helped the agency increase its competitiveness, solidifying Kenya’s reputation as one of the world’s top tea producers.

As part of the celebration of International Men’s Day, KTDA’s message highlights the bond that men share not only in the workplace but in their communities, where tea continues to play an important role in fostering connections and promoting good health.

“International Men’s Day is a time to reflect on the positive impact men have in various sectors. At KTDA, we are proud to stand with all the men who continue to contribute to the success of this iconic industry,” Muthaura concluded.

The agency’s commitment to enhancing the lives of farmers and their families remains central to its mission, with a special emphasis on supporting the male workforce who form the backbone of Kenya’s thriving tea industry.
