Labour CS Bore Appears Before the Departmental Committee on Labour

Labour and Skills Development Cabinet Secretary, Madam Florence Bore, and her Principal Secretary for Labour and Skills Development, Mr. Shadrack Mwadime, today morning appeared before the Departmental Committee on Labour, chaired by Eric Muchangi Njiru Karemba, for consideration of the Supplementary Estimates for FY 2023/24 and budget performance. Muchangi is, currently, Member of Parliament for Runyenjes Constituency, and also the Chairman of the Labour and Social Affairs committee.

The State Department is working towards the realization of the aspirations of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). It is an enabler of socio-economic transformation with the goal of creating a globally competitive and adaptive human resource base capable of meeting the demands of a rapidly industrializing economy.

The CS and her PS shared the priorities of the State Department and urged the Committee for consideration and defense of the budget allocated to the programs in the State Department, despite the current budget cuts. Accompanying them were the top ministry officials.
