Legetet Men and Women Carry Hopes of Megun at Cup Finals
It was a double victory for Legetet men and women as they lifted the Megun Ward’s Governor’s Cup Volleyball titles, on Sunday.
Their victories from finals at Ngeria Girls, guarantee them a spot at April’s Governor’s Cup Volleyball Tournament Finals.
Legetet men beat their arch-rivals Momoniat 3-2, the losers having won the first set 30-28, Legetet winning the second 25-18 and the third 25-17. Momoniat won the fourth 25-19 and lost the fifth 13-15.
Kingwaal women lost their bid to represent Megun Ward at the county finals, after losing to their visitors Legetet.
The men’s final match in Tulwet/Chuiyat was a brother-against-brother affair, and it proved an entertaining match where emotions ran high.
However, in the match played at Tulwet Primary, Chuiyat men showed no gratitude to step brothers and hosts, Tulwet, humiliating them 3-0. Koisagat women beat Chuiyat to win the women’s category.
In Cheptiret/Kipchamo Ward, Mugundoi women lost to visiting Kerita 1-2, in a match played at Mugundoi VTC. The hosts won the first set 25-22, lost the second 13-25 and the third 14-25.
The men’s contest was disqualified owing to the flouting of technical rules. This means Mugundoi men get back to the court next weekend.
