After undergoing tough vetting to obtain top cream, strict public service service practices and expectations await newly sworn-in County Executive Committee Members of Uasin Gishu County.

Ten County Executive Members were sworn to sit in Governor Jonathan Bii’s cabinet, and most importantly steer and propel the Nguzo Kumi Agenda manifesto as is the expectation of the people of Uasin Gishu. The heads of departments will lead in sectoral policy implementation.

Speaking during the swearing-in held at the County Headquarters, Governor Bii said his administration could not do much initially as the cabinet had not been formulated to ratify some of the plans of his manifesto.

“The government could not do as much as we would have liked to do because we were waiting for ( CECs) and now that you are in office, we are getting right at work. There is no time to waste,” said Bii.

However, the Governor said his administration will introduce strict personnel management practices in a bid to ensure and guarantee efficiency and service delivery for the constituents of Uasin Gishu.

“We will introduce, among others, performance contracts because expectations have it that we must meet the demands of the people of Uasin Gishu, this we shall make sure that we satisfy what is expected of us,” he adds.

Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot asked the new cabinet members to work hard to make a good report card for the County Government. “The Governor and myself will present our report card to the people of Uasin Gishu in another five years, ensuring that you steer the development agenda of the Governor.”

Assembly speaker, Philip Muigei, said the county legislature will be working with the county executive to ensure the people of Uasin Gishu realize good governance and relish development.

Several members of County Assembly, County Secretary, County Attorney and other senior government officials attented the function.
