Likuyani MP Leads Relief Efforts for Flood Victims, Urges Government Intervention

In the wake of devastating floods wreaking havoc across the nation, Likuyani Member of Parliament, Innocent Mugabe, took proactive steps to assist flood victims in Lupele and Kambi Mawe Villages, Likuyani Ward. The relentless rains have caused widespread destruction and loss of lives, leaving communities displaced and in urgent need of assistance.

Today, Mugabe visited 264 flood victims currently seeking refuge at the Baptist Church in Kipsangui. Moved by their plight, he offered humanitarian aid, including food, bedding, and sanitary towels, to alleviate their suffering. Accompanied by a delegation from the National Government Administration Officers (NGAO), including Likuyani Ag. DCC, Madam Beatrice Mukuba, and Likuyani SCPC Mr. Muthui, as well as county government representatives, Mugabe emphasized the importance of unity and swift action in times of crisis.

Addressing the media, Mugabe called upon the national government, particularly the National Disaster Response Committee, to ensure the equitable distribution of humanitarian assistance to all flood-affected regions across the country. He stressed the need for a coordinated response to provide timely relief to those in distress.

Furthermore, the MP urged citizens to heed government directives and early warning advisories regarding the ongoing floods, emphasizing the paramount importance of prioritizing safety and adhering to precautionary measures.

Mugabe’s compassionate initiative and advocacy for government intervention underscored a commitment to serving his constituents and fostering solidarity during times of adversity.
