Governor Kenneth Lusaka has flagged off medical supplies and medicine worth Ksh 58 Million to benefit all the health facilities in the county.
The consignment purchased from Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) will be distributed to all dispensaries, health centers, 9 sub county hospitals and Bungoma referral hospital.
While flagging off the drugs at Bungoma referral hospital, Lusaka reiterated that no patient will be required to purchase drugs from chemists as the drugs will be adequate in all the health facilities across the county.
Lusaka underscored his commitment to working with the security agencies to ensure that the drugs purchased do not find their way to private chemists.
The County Boss further noted that Kemsa also supplied non-supplies worthy Sh19.4 million with Non-pharms consuming Ksh 8 million, pharmaceuticals Ksh 4.6 million and laboratory reagents Ksh 6.8 million.
