Lusaka Signs Mou With USAID Western Kenya Water Project (WKWP) FOR Provision Of Safe Water
Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the County government and USAID Western Kenya water project (WKWP) regarding the implementation of Western Kenya water projects activities that aims at increasing the availability of, and access to, water services in Western Kenya while enabling better management of water resources.
Lusaka welcomed the partnership and added that the signing of the MOU is a milestone towards making the availability of water accessible to County residents.
The program funded by USAID at a tune of Sh250 million for the next five years will enable more than 50,000 residents across the county to gain access to improved Water services.
WKWP will partner with water Service providers to develop bankable business plans, improve operations, and water services delivery and facilitate access to financing.
USAID Western Kenya water project (WKWP) deputy Chief of party Calvin Sodera said that they were happy to work with the county and will ensure residents access clean water.
