“DRAW THE LINE

When we were young and in a fighting mood, we used to put saliva on our hands and say, “Tharia njata Ä«no wone.”

Loosely interpreted, this meant:
“Clear the star, and you will see.”

This indicated that a battle had been declared. In other words, either withdraw or be ready to fight, and whoever wins, wins.

And honestly, there are times when you are pushed to that level in many aspects of life.

At times, you lack the willpower to fight back, yet all signs indicate that the battle has been thrown at your doorstep.
Today, I want to tell ourselves that we must wake up and set up our boundaries.

Boundaries that say, beyond this place, one more push, and you will get us fighting back and re-establishing our position.

This applies to matters of relationships, business competition, partnership, governance, etc.

Let them know beyond that boundary, you will fight back using all that is at your disposal.

Starting from the easy mechanism e.g., open communication, to escalating to harder options depending on the other party’s response.
The bottom line is, a broken boundary calls for action!

Thinking of it, how many of us have set boundaries in the first place?

Are we conscious of this? Or does anything pass?

For me, I have clarity, and I hope you do too.”
