Main Suspect in Kware Murders Arrested

The Acting Inspector General of the National Police Service, Douglas Kanja, has announced the arrest of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the primary suspect in the brutal murders of nine individuals discovered at a dumpsite in Kware, Mukuru Kwa Njenga, Nairobi.

Addressing the media this morning at the DCI Headquarters, Mazingira House, Mr. Kanja revealed that Khalusha, 33, has confessed to murdering 42 women, including his own wife, over a period spanning from 2022 to July 2024. The confession was made during a detailed interrogation by DCI Homicide investigators.

Mr. Mohamed I. Amin of the DCI stated that Khalusha has guided officers to his rented residence in Kware, located near the crime scene. At the house, investigators recovered several critical pieces of evidence including women’s undergarments, Identification Cards, mobile phones, SIM cards, and a machete.

As the postmortem examination of the victims is underway, Ag. IG Kanja expressed gratitude to the public for their support throughout the investigation and urged for continued calm while officers finalize the crime scene examination.

The National Police Service has called upon anyone with information that could help in identifying the victims or those with missing loved ones to come forward. Such information can be reported at the DCI Headquarters or the nearest police station.

The investigation continues as authorities work to provide answers for the families affected by this tragic case.
